Every Sunday June 13-September 26, (excluding Aug 8th for Kimball Arts Festival)
Gain experience on what it takes to create a zero waste event. Opportunities for environmental edcuation/outreach. Responsibilities: Direct visitors on how to recycle, sort recycling, maintain zero waste stations, assist with food waste disposal (feed the pigs), etc. Willingness to get dirty with others who are passionate about the environment. Ideal for Environmental Studies/Sustainable Business Majors. Requirements: Must be able to lift 50 pounds and not afraid to get dirty.
Program Assistant:
School/Tuition Credit and end of season bonus. Bonus is reduced for missing Sundays of the market &/or not being timely or a team player.
Each week, for 15 weeks, these programs are unique and heavily promoted in our media outreach. The programs you will assist with include: kids activities, music and entertainment, Featured Chef, Featured Artist, Featured Non Profits and Featured Sustainable Issue Groups which are different groups weekly. You will work directly with the Program Director. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with managing large groups, events, customer service and problem solving. Ability to work well with others, think on the spot and multi-task. Ability to stay calm during busy/potentially stressful situations is a bonus.
Stage Manager/Stage Hand/Emcee:
School/Tuition Credit + meals.(Opportunity to work with local music programmer)
Responsibilities: Assist bands with sound/set up (can be trained). Provide hospitality to bands. Comfortable speaking and promoting on mic. Experience with stage management and direction. Creative, fun and open to collaboration with other creative types.
Performer/costume design/make up artists:Work directly with weekly performance troupe Park Silly Players and join them as a performer. Costumes relate to weekly themes.
Our customer service and relationships with our vendors are what make this street festival special and keeps vendors returning. You will help with street map details, parking and traffic flow in am and pm. You will assist with vendor communications, daily problem solving, customer service, and vendor feedback. You will work directly with Vendor Director. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with managing large groups, city regulations, customer service and problem solving. Ability to work well with others, think on the spot and multi-task. Ability to stay calm during busy/potentially stressful situations is a bonus.
Veggie Valet: School/Tuition Credit only + meals.Assist farmers, check vegetables for guests.
