Demographics

The Park Silly Sunday Market consistently draws crowds of 3000-6000 visitors and nearly 90,000 visitors over the entire season.  Demographics includes locals, second homeowners, Wasatch Front (Salt Lake Valley) and Wasatch Back (Kamas, Heber, Midway, Oakley, etc.) as well as national and international tourists.

  • The Park Silly Sunday Market is Utah’s first “Zero Waste” market. PSSM saw nearly 90,000 visitors during the 15 weeks of the 2009 season and sent only 2 bags of actual trash to the landfill.
  • PSSM hosts local and national sustainability speakers/groups and provided them with an opportunity to participate in a conversation series to educate and inspire our community.
  • PSSM supports local agriculture, Utah’s Own and Slow Food Utah to educate about how buying locally is a key element in becoming a sustainable community.
  • Our Solar Saucer-provides electricity to our bands and a grant from Rocky Mountain Power provides us with all the wind power we need for a season.
